WHAT IS CHRISTMAS?
Christmas i say is a time of love, for love and all the blessings it has brought to human kind and the whole of creation as a whole.
Christmas is not about drinking/ boozing 'CHRISTMAS CHEER'
Christmas is not about Old Santa Clause and his white whiskers, fluffy great beard, reindeers and sleigh riding high and low distributing gifts (especially for kids)
Christmas is not about presents' giving and receiving -boxed or wrapped
Christmas is not about holly leaves and christmas tree
Christmas is not about brightly colors and decorations
Christmas is not about snow covered rooftops, pavements, drive-ins and motorways
Christmas is not about the end of year and its celebrations
Christmas is not about having a shopping spree
What then is CHRISTMAS?
CHRISTMAS is about a wonderful person.
Christmas is about JESUS, the son of GOD sent/born into this world some 2,000 years ago.
CHRISTmas is about the CHRIST in the 'CHRISTmas'- the saviour and messiah
Christmas is about showing and sharing love to people around us (including that neighbor or fellow difficult to get along with)
It is only when we get the true meaning and essence of this wonderful personality that we can flow in the season specially devoted and dedicated to commemorate that wonderful night in which he was born and given out of a heart full of love and genuine compassion for us all on earth.
The reason we have songs/ carols reminding us of him and the wonderful work he came to perform in our hearts and our world to prepare us and also make us ready for the life beyond this earthly realm.
On carol night, you may even be opportuned to see a nativity scene put/ set up in commemoration of the events that occured that very night in which he was born.
Having this as a foundation and bedrock of celebration come december time, all the other things i mentioned earlier that Christmas is not then occupy their proper perspectives and places in our end of year schedule and activities.
May the true love shed and shared the first CHRISTMAS be truly yours and also extend to all your loved ones too.
Enjoy this Christmas- it will certainly be the most beautiful of all seasons you have yet experienced.
